A Little Friend of Mine

Oh me

Oh my

A little friend of mine died today

Ginger fur all golden eyes a chasing

Hedgerows

Tall grass stalking

Walking the walk

Purr and paw

That’s the law if you’re a cat

Tooth and claw if you’re a cat

Not at all afraid

Of anything but his shadow

Would have loved him for ever

Never thinking

That in a winking of an eye

He’d grow old and need to sleep

For ever and a day

Lay down his sweet head

Upon a bed of roses

Oh me

Oh my

A little friend of mine died today
