Frozen Dreams

Broken hearted photographs lay strewn across the bedroom floor

Scattered rose petals leave a bleeding-heart trail

Dancing in profusion at the open window

As the Paisley curtains wave goodbye

The tired mahogany wardrobe door gapes at the jumble of frozen dreams

Screaming in dusty silence at the chaotic undoing of so many memories

Tantrum and turmoil

Turns to quietude as warm tears melt the moments

Orderly coloured rows of clothes and pretty layers of her day await

She will not mind the rain this morning as she waits for the early bus
