Baking bread with mother

Watching the Thursday drear stain the windowpane

Watching tears that have waited weeks to fall

My father had left in the rain slamming the door

Ignoring the pouring out of her song

The song that she had been singing was still ringing in his ears

As he downed, drowning in another glass of dreams

Life is not everything it seems to be

Watching the Thursday drear stain the windowpane

Baking bread with mother
