I watch the shadows of people in jumbled half speak

Looking all ways everywhere in no particular direction

They stand shoulder to shoulder upon bones of  history

Sleeping beneath blankets of silvered dreamlands

All of mankind awaiting for all time ever

Never daring to take stock of  where and who

Waiting for the last day

Waiting for the last time

Moments held like running grains of sand between their fingers

A life spent waiting to make ready

All moments fleeting in the first and last breath of day

A life spent waiting for the last time

Promises of paradise as they await the abyss of the unknown
